Reading the Bible in 2020

Reading the Bible in 2020

Dear Church Family,

One the favorite children’s Bibles that we have has a wonderful subtitle that speaks volumes: The Jesus Storybook Bible – Every Story Whispers His Name.

I can remember the first time I read the Bible through. My eyes were opened to see the whole story of redemption that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. One really does see Jesus more clearly when the whole of the Scriptures are read through.

Let me encourage you as you look to the new year to consider a read-through-the-Bible plan for 2020. You will enjoy the discipline, excitement, and understanding gained as a result.

There are several ways you an accomplish such plan.

One way is to follow the daily readings listed in the Table Talk magazine devotionals we provided monthly.

Another option is to pick up one of the printed Bible-in-a-Year checklists we’ve provided at the church building. If you’d like, one can be mailed to you – just ask!

If you are tech-savvy, a Bible app for your phone or tablet usually provides a daily reading option.

In 2020, read through the whole Bible – you will be glad that you did as you see Jesus more fully!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
